BCCI announces venues for Australia ODIs

The BCCI today announced Guwahati, Delhi, Mumbai,Mohali, Hyderabad, Nagpur and Jaipur as the venues for India'sseven-match ODI series against Australia, scheduled forOctober-November this year. The tour programme and fixtures committeeof the board which met in Mumbai will finalise the match schedule afterthe logistics are worked out.

Guwahati and Delhi missed out on fixtures duringIndia's previous home ODI series, with England opting to return homeafter the Mumbai terror attacks last November. The two cities werescheduled to host the last two games of the seven-match series butEngland flew back soon after the fifth match at Cuttack.

However, they returned for the two-Test seriesthat began on December 11. Mumbai was to host the second Test but lostout due to the changed security situation.

The panel for the 2009-10 domestic season alsodecided that the Duleep Trophy would continue to be played on aknockout basis, along with the revival of the inter-state Mushtaq AliTwenty20 Trophy. The inter-state two-day women's tournament will notfeature this year, as only one-dayers and Twenty20 matches have beenscheduled in women's cricket. In junior cricket, the CK Nayudu Trophyfor Under-22 players and the Cooch Behar Trophy for the U-19s would beplayed in a two-tier format - elite group and plate group - on a homeand away basis.
